"Receive the child in reverence, |
Mansfield Rudolf Steiner School was founded in Maindample, in country Victoria, Australia, in 1985 by a group of parents and teachers wishing to have a Steiner education for their children in a country environment. The mudbrick school was built by the parents without support of any Government funding. In 1996 the school relocated to Mansfield to become more accessible to the wider community. The 3 hectare site allows for future growth while still retaining a rural outlook. In 2006 the school came of age, celebrating its 21st anniversary. Two new classrooms, a purpose built art and craft room and the upgraded Merton Hall were officially opened on the occasion. In Rudolf Steiner Schools, during the primary years,
the class teacher generally moves up through the class levels with the
children. This affords a great sense of security, continuity and progressive
growth for child, parent and teacher.
During this time, relationships amongst the children and between teacher and children develop and deepen, providing continuity, respect and trust. Read more about our curriculum here.
